WINKLEIGH PARISH PLAN 2003-4

The Parish Plan has grown out of the "Vital Villages" concept initiated and funded by the Countryside Agency which has recently been merged with DEFRA. The Plan is a document outlining how the community sees itself developing over the next 5 to 20 years, it will set out a vision for the future and identify what action is needed to tackle issues of concern.

The Parish Plan has been written after gathering as much information as possible from both within the parish and from elsewhere, as appropriate. An important source of information was from the Parish Appraisal questionnaire, the information has been made available to the whole parish community in as many ways as possible, such as notices, public meetings,etc.

The energy and expertise of as many as possible was needed to work on various aspects of the plan and in May 2005 the Parish Council approved the final draft.
